64% of the population are overweight or obese, this is contributing to poor health and extra cost and burden on the NHS.
CHANGE TO GREAT FOOD
Our School Food Plan has the support of the Secretary of State for Education and helps schools to make a cultural change to great food.
The TuckIN Pledges
Food businesses and school caterers who have signed into TuckIN have made 8 pledges to:
- Use better oils and frying techniques
- Use less salt
- Use less sugar
- Control portion size
- Promote TuckIN
- Undertake nutrition training
- Commit to complementary schemes
How to join the TuckIN programme
The programme is free to join. Sign up is quick and simple and includes initial online training and downloadable support resources. Certification requires a committment to an understanding of and an agreement to deliver the 8 pledges above to help make food better for your customers and your community.

Food Hygiene Rating Scheme
Participating outlets are required to have a Food Hygiene Rating of 3, 4 or 5. You can check to see what rating has been given to an outlet on their most recent food inspection.
