On the 1st February 2017, Chelmsford City Council hosted a celebration for our TuckIN businesses. This was a chance to celebrate the achievements of local businesses pledging to TuckIN, whilst also giving them useful information about support and funding opportunities available to food businesses in Essex.

It was great to see our businesses talking so positively about TuckIN, and some of them have some very innovative ideas on ways to expand the project!

The event included presentations from Jane Smith, who showed off our new website; Clare Ebberson and Laura Taylor-Green from Essex County Council, who spoke about Better Health, Better Business and Essex’s obesity strategy; Mike Smith who talked about the support available to businesses from the local authority along with grant and funding opportunities; and Liz Storey from Ignite Business who gave a presentation on Social Media for Food Businesses.

We got lots of positive feedback from this event, and hopefully it was a great chance for all our businesses to see the kinds of services that the local authority provides, and the positive impact they can have on their customers’ lifestyles by choosing to TuckIN!
