The TuckIN Team have applied for and are finalists in the LGC (Local Government Chronicle) Award for Public Health. https://awards.lgcplus.com/
We put our bid together back in the summer and are pleased to say that we are in the final 9 of the Public Health Category.
Three of us are off to London on 27 January to present our three reasons why we should win. We are working hard to get this down to the 10 minutes allocated as we have so much to say. A lot of effort has been put in so far by the TuckIN team and our businesses who have made pledges to reduce fat, salt, sugar and calories.
Thank you to all who have contributed to the project so far and we look forward to building our TuckIN community.
Our three reasons are still being worked on but include
- Our unique solution to a public health problem – a health project specifically not mentioning health
- Our approach to Partnership Working – working with businesses, Environmental Health Officers across the County and Essex County Council, and
- How we have overcome barriers – we have changed the scheme along the way through listening to feedback from businesses and partners.
Wish us luck!
The results are announced on 8 March, we can’t wait!
